Macke it to Thy Other Side, Land of Little Sticks, 1999. Synthetic polymer on linen, 7 ½ x 10 ¼ feet (228.6cm x 312.4cm). From Tracking Athabasca, 1998-2000. Mackenzie begins her work by fixing it to the floor of her Vancouver studio, building up layers of historical and imaginative components and then completing it vertically over several weeks or months.
